Exploring Georgia’s Historic Newspaper Archives at the Digital Library of Georgia
The Digital Library of Georgia (DLG) has put many Georgia newspapers online. This program will provide attendees with an introduction to the Digital Library of Georgia’s digital newspaper archives. The talk will include a brief overview of the newspaper digitization process, a tutorial on the technology and methods for getting the most out of the websites for genealogical research, and preview of future DLG projects. Remember DLG is free and available to anyone with Internet access.

About our Speaker
Donnie Summerlin is the Digital Projects Archivist at the Digital Library of Georgia, where he oversees their ongoing effort to digitize the state's historic newspapers. He has a B. A. in history from the University of Georgia, a M. A. in history from Georgia College & State University, a MLIS from Valdosta State University, and has been a Certified Archivist since 2010.
